The Epoch Times Reporters Investigate Political Turmoil in Chinese Communist Party
In a recent report by The Epoch Times, it has been revealed that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has been postponed. However, the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference are scheduled to be held as usual in early March. The members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and members of the Secretariat have reported their work to Party leader Xi Jinping, showing a display of loyalty that experts believe is merely a formality.
According to the report, senior CCP officials recently submitted “written reports” to Xi Jinping on their work performance. This practice has been ongoing since 2018, with members of various committees and leading groups within the CCP reporting to Xi Jinping periodically.
Experts, such as Wang He, have noted that this requirement for officials to give personal reports to Xi Jinping is a tactic used by the Party leader to maintain political control and monitor the activities of senior officials. The practice has expanded over the years, indicating Xi’s desire to strengthen his grip on power within the party.
Sheng Xue, a Chinese writer living in Canada, has criticized Xi Jinping’s imperial mentality, suggesting that the requirement for officials to submit work reports is a formality that serves to protect Xi Jinping rather than to promote genuine accountability and transparency within the party.
The latest work report to Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of achieving the “two safeguards” and maintaining economic stability despite significant challenges facing the country. However, analysts believe that there is an undercurrent of dissent within the party, with officials discreetly working to undermine Xi Jinping’s authority.
The political situation within the CCP appears to be fragile, with ongoing purges and dismissals of top officials raising concerns about the stability of the party leadership. As the CCP grapples with internal strife and external pressures, the future of Xi Jinping’s rule remains uncertain.
The Epoch Times will continue to monitor developments within the Chinese Communist Party and provide updates on this evolving political situation.
