Priority to the protection of the territory and to the enhancement of its testimonies: these two areas are the main investments budgeted by the Municipality of Settimo Vittone for 2021.

The municipal council, which met on Tuesday 30 March, approved the accounting document which balances on two million and 771 thousand euros, of which one million 160 thousand euros intended for investments. Particular attention is given to the safety from hydrogeological risks. Starting from the interventions on the side upstream of Torredaniele, to protect the town: “These are works for 700 thousand euros, expected in 2022 but which with the budget change (approved on Tuesday, ed) we will go to anticipate because the ministerial contribution has already arrived – announced the mayor, Sabrina Noro -. There is a double responsibility with respect to this very important intervention: the safety of people and the terraced landscape, a centuries-old witness to our agricultural traditions ». Another 60 thousand will be used for the design of the works to refurbish the slope and protect the roads on the Settimo-Cavalgrosso road up to Trovinasse. The actual work will require an investment of one million euros. The municipal administration will then participate in a call from the Gal, expiring at the end of April, for the allocation of 90 thousand euros with the aim of financing the redevelopment project of landscape elements along the Via Francigena with particular attention to the historical testimonies present. in the town of Cesnola. The announcement intends to favor the recovery of artefacts and architectures with historical-cultural constraints. Among the other works foreseen in the budget, there are the extraordinary maintenance of the heritage (30 thousand euros), contributions to consortia for the management of mountain roads (four thousand), maintenance of streets and squares (50 thousand), the completion of asphalt of the upper area of the country, ten thousand euro for school maintenance and another 10 thousand euro for street furniture and refurbishment of the playground in Montestrutto.
