According to the sources, the Election Commission disqualified Shah Mehmood Qureshi for 5 years based on the cipher case. For this reason, Shah Mehmood Qureshi will not be able to participate in the elections.
It should be remembered that in the cipher case, the former foreign minister has been sentenced under Article 63-1 of the Constitution.
In this regard, it has been stated in the notification that Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been disqualified under Section 232 of the Election Act.
In this regard, the Election Commission says that the special court has already convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years.
