Shuangbai County: Write Spring Festival couplets to send blessings and add flavor to the new year
The New Year is approaching, and the flavor of the new year is getting stronger. In order to further enrich the people’s spiritual and cultural life and create a happy, festive, and peaceful New Year atmosphere, the Shuangbai County Federation of Literary and Art Circles took the lead in organizing the County Calligraphers Association to carry out the 2024 Spring Festival couplets with the theme of “Building the Chinese Dream Together and Painting Shuangbai Chapter” home volunteering activities.
“Please write me a blessing word” “Write for me ‘good luck every year and peace every year'”… At the event site, 15 members of the Shuangbai County Calligraphers Association laid out paper and ground ink on the spot, and wrote in flowing lines. According to the crowd’s comments, The demand is “customized” and a pair of Spring Festival couplets praising a happy life and implying beauty and auspiciousness are given to the masses. Many people stopped to watch and carefully selected Spring Festival couplets to their liking.
“Writing Spring Festival couplets is a good carrier and method for inheriting, protecting, and promoting excellent traditional culture. It is not only the best inheritance and protection of the art of calligraphy, but also reflects the rich traditional cultural characteristics. Our County Calligraphers Association has carried out voluntary writing before the Spring Festival for many years in a row. There are more people participating in the Spring Festival couplet sending activity this year than in previous years, and the activity is very meaningful,” said Jiang Dougui, chairman of the Shuangbai County Calligraphers Association.
In the first year of the year, Shuangbai County Literary and Art Circles gave full play to its professional and organizational advantages and cooperated with the County Calligraphers Association and the county library to carry out 15 volunteer service activities (times) for writing and sending Spring Festival couplets at the grassroots level. More than 5,200 Spring Festival couplets and more than 6,000 Chinese characters were written and given away. Zhang, benefited more than 4,500 people and created a strong New Year atmosphere.
