Smiles, hugs and lots of games: for “Belluno Balocchi” the army of 1400 children

BELLUNO. The children (and their parents) conquer the center of Belluno. For one day, no cars in the heart of the capital, in their place an army of 1,400 children celebrating.

After two years of forced stop, the “Belluno Balocchi” event is back, one of the most popular initiatives of the Pomi d’Ottone association. An event that united children and families through creative and collaborative play. For the whole day, precisely from 10 to 18.30, the historic center has been transformed into an immense games room, with over 30 attractions dedicated to children from 0 to 12 years.

For the 4-12 gymkane range, games of the past, those creative and collaborative, those to hit the mark, those of distant and different worlds, those to help while having fun. Then there is space for creative handicraft stalls, with wooden games, jewels, clothes, various objects for children of all ages. In front of the Hotel Astor set up areas dedicated to children from 0 to 3 years: three equipped spaces, under sheltered gazebos, specifically aimed at the first, second and third year of life. For newborns, for example, sensory activities have been designed to share with their parents, in the company of the animators. In the squares of the Martyrs and Vittorio Emanuele there is also space for many shows with street artists from all over the world: storytellers and jesters revisited in a modern way, comedians, jugglers, equilibrists, clowns, magicians. Along the streets of the center are the waders, ventriloquists, performers aboard giant bicycles, balloons, face painting and many other funny characters, who will entertain children with gags and animations.

An emotion, this return, for Francesco Da Ponte, the soul of Pomi d’Ottone: «This day», he underlines, «is a tattoo that children (and we adults) will carry forever imprinted in their hearts. We wanted to get off to a great start and we succeeded. We knew there was expectation, but seeing our children laugh and have fun as if the pademia had never existed, makes the efforts we have made to set up this event vanish in an instant.
