The 41-year-old speleologist from Vicenza who with some climbing partners was inspecting the ‘Buso della Pisatela’ on Monte Faedo (Vicenza) was brought to safety out of the cave where he had been stuck in the early afternoon of Saturday.

The man, who fell into a cave due to the detachment of a rock on which the anchor of the companion preceding him was fixed, had hit his head in the fall, initially remaining unconscious, and then recovered, assisted by the other two expedition companions . First the cave rescue teams got the two companions out, unharmed, then they reached the injured person, who proved to be able to walk. Assisted by a doctor and a nurse, the injured man was helped up, overcoming the most difficult passages of the subhorizontal cave. Just before midnight he arrived at the exit of the cave. About twenty men from the sixth Speleo Delegation of the Veneto took part in the intervention, to whose aid colleagues from Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia also arrived.
