The fifth detachment of the Armed Police Corps recently conducted a real-life military exercise in extremely cold weather. Officers and soldiers of the squadron were tasked with capturing and exterminating “violent terrorists” in a dense forest beside the Irtysh River in harsh conditions of minus 25 degrees Celsius.

Immediately, the leading cadre Ren Kailong organized the officers and soldiers to switch from patrol status to combat status and drove to the target area. The area was vast, the trees were tall, and the terrain complex. Ren Kailong had the emergency platoon brought in with drones to provide support. They quickly seized the favorable terrain and cut off escape routes of the “terrorists”.

The pursuit, escape, and annihilation operation was full of challenges, with fog affecting drone reconnaissance and a tense atmosphere in the dense forest. The troops encountered unexpected attacks from the “violent terrorists” but successfully neutralized them after a heavy battle. However, the exercise revealed some shortcomings in tactical command, personnel layout, and scientific and technological training.

Reflecting on the exercise, the officers and soldiers discussed the need for targeted training in unfamiliar areas and the importance of technological training in actual combat situations. They expressed a need to connect training with actual combat, maximize the role of scientific and technological equipment, and obtain combat effectiveness from scientific and technological innovation.

The leader of the detachment emphasized the importance of conducting real-life drills without greetings, relying on red and blue confrontation to increase the “combat content” of the drill. They mobilized all officers and soldiers to identify and solve problems, improving reaction speed under severe cold conditions and inviting local experts to teach the troops and organize key training.

The exercise provided valuable insights into the need to strengthen scientific and technological training to enhance combat capabilities. The fifth detachment of the Armed Police Corps has identified and addressed several issues, paving the way for improved combat effectiveness in future military exercises.
