Strengthen Gas Inspection and Build a Safe Line of Defense

In response to the recent gas explosion accident in Ningxia, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau of Jiashan County has launched a special inspection of gas safety in its jurisdiction. This move comes in accordance with the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and aims to learn from the tragic incident, take preventive measures, and ensure the safety of gas usage in the region.
The inspection process will focus on various aspects of gas safety, with an emphasis on both regular inspections and strict law enforcement. One of the priorities will be the examination of catering streets, including Yunxi North Road and Qingyun Road. These areas will undergo comprehensive investigation, hierarchical management, and closed-loop rectification to address any safety hazards present in catering gas users. The authorities will also crack down on any illegal activities related to gas usage.
To ensure effective inspections, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau will implement a “four determinations” supervision mechanism, including fixed posts, fixed personnel, fixed responsibilities, and fixed timing. Daily inspections and regular rectifications will also be strictly enforced. By proactively identifying and resolving gas safety issues, the authorities aim to strengthen the overall safety measures in place. For instance, the Dayun Squadron has already conducted inspections on 186 catering units, resulting in 15 corrections and the investigation and handling of two cases.
The joint efforts of emergency management, comprehensive law enforcement, market supervision, and other relevant units will be leveraged for efficient and thorough gas safety inspections. These inspections will focus on ensuring the qualification of gas usage, the presence of firefighting equipment, the condition of gas pipelines, and the prevention of gas leakage from liquefied gas cylinders. Furthermore, inspections will assess the installation of gas alarms and exhaust facilities. On-site guidance will be provided to catering units, urging them to promptly rectify any identified issues. Up to this point, the dry kiln squadron has conducted a total of four joint inspections this year.
In addition to inspections and law enforcement, the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau is also coordinating efforts to raise awareness and educate the public on gas safety measures. Grid officers, law enforcement personnel, and community members will conduct visits and engage in publicity activities. Schools, shops, and local communities will be targeted as areas to disseminate gas safety information. By emphasizing the importance of safe gas usage and fire prevention, warm reminders will be given to the public. The use of standards will be clarified, relevant safety knowledge will be shared, and the responsibility of ensuring safety in gas production will be reinforced. The aim is to create a strong atmosphere of gas safety throughout the region. For example, the Tianning Squadron has distributed over 300 promotional materials and conducted three community events to raise awareness about gas safety.
The Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau of Jiashan County is actively working towards strengthening gas inspection and building a safe line of defense. By prioritizing regular inspections, strict law enforcement, and public education, the authorities aim to ensure the safety and well-being of residents while preventing incidents similar to the Ningxia gas explosion accident.
