In the development of a joint and coordinated operation between the Colombian Navy, the National Army, the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, the discovery and seizure of 30 units of machinery and a dredge was achievedused for the illegal exploitation of mining deposits.

In the Temuey village, in the Patidero and Río Napi sectors, located in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Guapi, department of Cauca, members of the Public Force and personnel of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cauca – CRC, intervened eight mining fronts, achieving the seizure of 3,734 pieces of woodwhich is equivalent to approximately 160 cubic meters and six units of machinery used in illegal mining.

In addition, 24 units of machinery were preventively seized and a dredger for fluvial extraction of mining deposits.

With this operation, a significant contribution is made to the environmental Protectionespecially the water resources that are contaminated with these practices of illegal extraction of mining deposits.

The material seized and confiscated was made available to the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cauca – CRC. During the operation there were no catches.

The Colombian Navy will continue to develop joint and coordinated operations in order to prevent illegal exploitation non-renewable resources in the Colombian Pacific, reaffirming its commitment to preserve the region’s natural resources.
