Súmate urged the National Electoral Council -CNE- to facilitate the registration and updating of data in the electoral registry of 5.5 million Venezuelan migrants, of voting age, both inside and outside the country.
This, stated the civil association, is a challenge for the entity, which called presidential elections for July 28.
«The National Electoral Council must facilitate registration and updating in the electoral registry abroad to some 5 million 500 thousand Venezuelan migrants over 18 years of age”, the NGO stated in its X account.
He pointed out that this is an estimate based on the more than 7,700,000 citizens that left Venezuela reported by the R4V Platform in its latest report, published on November 30, 2023.

Súmate pointed out that the electoral registry, as of January 31, indicates that there are 107,591 Venezuelans registered abroad. This represents a minimum increase of 95 voters compared to the cutoff of October 22, 2023. “The National Electoral Council has a great challenge on the special day of the Electoral Registry from March 18 to April 16,” he said.
In the country, said the organization, the electoral body must establish around 1,500 fixed and mobile points in the 335 municipalities. Part of them in the 100 parishes with the largest population, to guarantee citizen participation.
