The Public Prosecutor of Bari has asked for the indictment of a gynecologist of the Santa Maria di Bari clinic, accused of manslaughter with reference to the death of a fetus. The episode dates back to May 2019.
According to the investigations coordinated by the prosecutor Gaetano de Bari, the doctor would have delayed the caesarean surgery and, despite the fetus was in pain, he would have suspended cardiological monitoring for several hours, from the evening of May 26 until dawn the following day. , when the death was ascertained.
The gynecologist is accused of manslaughter. The preliminary hearing will be held on June 20 before the GUP of the Bari Court Rossana de Cristofaro, who has admitted – at the request of the spouses who have become a civil party.
