Impressive proportions of the collapsed part of the mountain under which, since time immemorial, people traveling from Ampezzo to Sauris have passed in one direction or another. The volume of rocky and inert material displaced by the explosion is quantified in about 3,000 cubic meters.
The charges have produced the desired effect and Fvg Strade, which manages the work, expresses satisfaction having found no surprises in the progress of the work.
«The task of our company – explains the president of Fvg Strade Raffaele Fantelli – is to improve and make the region’s road infrastructures safer. The roads in the mountains, however, are more fragile and delicate and it is for this reason that the works, as well as those in progress on the Sr Ud 73, are increasingly difficult and complex than in other geographical areas. Fvg Strade also in this case with a spirit of collaboration, and in support of the EDR, has maintained the commitment to carry out the work by coordinating all the subjects involved even though it no longer has direct competence on that stretch of road since the beginning of the year “.
The metal beams necessary for the construction of the bridge arrived, which were positioned upstream of the tunnel before the explosion.
In the next few days the boulders that made up the body of the tunnel will be removed in order to advance the work of laying the bridge and remaking the roadbed.
