The farewell of San Martino to Rina

Sister of the former mayor, she had looked after the small chapel of the Madonna delle Grazie for decades

SAN MARTINO CANAVESE, A crowd on Friday evening for the last rosary in memory of Caterina (Rina) Costanza Foghino widow Ghiardi, 84 years old, who died on Thursday 26.

In the center of the village it was necessary to cordon off and temporarily close to traffic the section of the central via Arduino, in front of the small chapel of the Madonna delle Grazie (which the deceased has looked after for a few decades) which was unable to contain all the relatives and friends, including the former parish priest of San Martino, Don Antonio Favrin. Rina Foghino disappeared after a brief hospitalization in the hospice of Salerano, after being in hospital in Ivrea. The parish and civil community of San Martino then crowded the parish church again, on the morning of Saturday 28, to gather around the numerous family members, starting with the daughters Antonella and Raffaella, the nephews and brother Domenico (former mayor of San Martino) with their respective families, on the occasion of the funeral celebrated by the parish priest Don Davide Rossetto. Rina Foghino was then buried next to her husband, in the family tomb in San Martino.
