CASTELFRANCO. “Montebelluna and Vedelago at the finish line, Castelfranco still at the starting blocks”: with an effective sports paraphrase, Castelfranco Merita comments on the news that characterized the last weekend (the inauguration of the plants in both Vedelago and Montebelluna), reporting in one of the themes that characterized the electoral campaign a year ago is on the rise. So we talk about the arrangement of the facility near the sports hall, now reduced to pitiful conditions, despite having been an excellence in the local sports scene.
If in Montebelluna the new athletics track is already a reality and in Vedelago an extraordinary redevelopment of the Bolge center has been carried out, «Castelfranco on the other hand» says the center-left coalition «will have to wait for its new facility, it is not known when. To tell the truth, it is not even known where, since the commissioner of reference had stated more or less this publicly: “by nature, athletics is a suburban sport”, who knows on what basis. It is a fact: neighboring administrations and of the same political color as ours, but which welcome the solicitations and requests of the opposition (contrary to what happens in Castelfranco), are able to offer what sporting citizens deserve: a decent sports facility, indeed, new. In the meantime, Castelfranco will continue to trample on what we see: an old-fashioned, worn, unwatchable, dangerous mantle. Castelfranco will continue to have a plant that has been unusable for years ».
The theme of the athletics track is closely connected with the major refurbishment project of the facilities in via Redipuglia, in particular the swimming pool: the overall vision in fact sees the enlargement of the space currently occupied by the swimming pool, while the sports field surrounded by athletics track should become a green area with a sporting vocation, but without a track, which according to what has been announced should instead be created in Salvarosa. A decision on which the center-left has never hidden his opposition, reiterating that the athletics track must remain “where it was and how it was”. Also recently the administration led by Stefano Marcon has emphasized that the projects of the swimming pool and the sports center in via Redipuglia are still a “suggestion” at the state of the art. Nothing decided and irrevocable, for now, a project is expected to accept the various observations received by the committees.
