The Gaber Festival kicks off in Castelnuovo Garfagnana

by admin

The seventeenth edition of the Gaber Festival kicks off this evening from Castelnuovo Garfagnana (Lucca), created to spread and keep the figure and work of Giorgio Gaber alive. The review will start tomorrow in Castelnuovo with a meeting-show entitled Giorgio Gaber: a new awareness, which will see protagonists the mayor of Castelnuovo Andrea Tagliasacchi, one of the first supporters of the now historic Festival and Giulio Casale, great interpreter of Mr.G. Also this year the programming of events will be concentrated above all in Camaiore (Lucca), which Gaber had chosen as the head office for his writing work with Sandro Luporini and where, since the 1990s, he has lived for a long time.

In the Versilian city there are six show-meetings from 15 to 24 July. All evenings will be exceptionally available for this edition not only live but also in free streaming on the YouTube channel of the Gaber Foundation, to meet the many requests and the large turnout that has always characterized the events proposed in compliance with the restrictions of the audience imposed by the pandemic. On 15 July, Michele Serra will take the stage in Piazza San Bernardino Motta, on 18 July, Vasco Brondi on 19, and Bobby Solo on 20.

Fulminacci will be the guest on 23 July, while the List Representative will close the Camaiore appointments on 24 July. Also on 24 July in Sarzana (Spezia) on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, the Gaber Foundation will propose an unmissable event entitled Dante and the author’s song, which will see Roberto Vecchioni as protagonist. On 29 July in Sansepolcro it will be Mario Capanna’s turn. Three appointments are scheduled for Montecatini (Pistoia): on 6 August David Riondino, on 13 August again David Riondino and on 20 August Giulio Casale.
