It would be responsible for numerous thefts of building material in various construction sites
They stole construction material from the yards in the Aosta Valley to be resold on the Eastern European market at very high prices, taking advantage of the supply difficulties of the companies in the sector. The gang of construction sites, responsible for “perpetrated and continued thefts”, was identified by the Aosta police and reported. Three people will have to answer for the theft in competition, aggravated and continued.
According to the investigations conducted by the theft section of the mobile squad, the gang was active in the Aosta plaine area. The thieves entered the construction sites, took possession of the building material and hid it in another warehouse. The stolen goods then ended up on the Romanian market where it was resold “with considerable profit” to companies in the sector which in this period have difficulty in finding materials.
A part of the stolen goods was recovered and returned to the companies, the Aosta Police Headquarters said.
