Bruno Bassano appointed by decree of the Minister of Ecological Transition

AOSTA. Bruno Bassano, 63, is the new director of the Gran Paradiso National Park. Author of numerous publications in the scientific field, since 1999 he has collaborated with the Park Authority and has become its health inspector and head of the Biodiversity and Scientific Research Service. He replaces acting director Pier Giorgio Mosso.

Bassano’s appointment took place with a decree signed by the minister of ecological transition Roberto Cingolani.

“It was largely unexpected news – comments the new director – and it is a particular honor for me to reach the direction of an institution that has been for me the professional reference of a lifetime, since I started my thesis degree until you reach this goal. I trust in the collaboration of all former colleagues, service managers and officials, to be able to conduct a collegial management of a complex body, to try to keep the Gran Paradiso National Park up to what it is today, one of the European references of protection of nature”.

Italo Cerise, president of the Pngp, expresses satisfaction. “Dr. Bruno Bassano – he explains – is known and appreciated in Italy and abroad for his competence and professionalism in wildlife management and in the conservation of the extraordinary biodiversity that the Park possesses as well as being a profound connoisseur of the territory and the communities that they live there. It also has an excellent capacity for dialogue with local administrators and with stakeholders who increasingly see the Park as an added value for the sustainable development of the territory ».
