The harsh warning from Iván Name Vásquez, president of the Senate

It should be noted that Iván Name spoke strongly about President Gustavo Petro’s proposal for a national Constituent Assembly, inviting him to submit the law that would convene the constituent assembly, following the protocols and not “inventing paths.”

“Bring here, Mr. President, the law that would convene the constituent assembly, as is the constitutional mandate, do not invent paths that we do not accept. (…) You are the president of Colombia, you are not a passing inhabitant of the Nariño Palace,” Senator Name said in plenary.
