The China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. has announced that the impact of rain, snow, and freezing weather on transportation has been significantly reduced. This comes as the railway department increases its transportation capacity for the first line of Spring Festival transportation in 2024.

On February 7, it was reported that the national railways are expected to carry 13.1 million passengers, with 1,873 additional passenger trains being opened. The railway department has taken measures to ensure that the impact of inclement weather is minimized, and has increased its transport capacity to accommodate the high volume of travelers during the Spring Festival.

According to the Transportation Department of China Railway Group, rolling stock, EMUs, and crews are being deployed in coordination with weather changes. Additional passenger trains have been put into operation in areas and lines where the weather has improved, in order to meet the maximum travel needs of passengers.

In specific areas, the transportation order within the management of Wuhan Bureau Group Company has returned to normal, with 143 additional night high-speed trains being arranged. Beijing Bureau Group Company has added 151 passenger trains to various directions, while Zhengzhou Bureau Group Company has opened 82 additional passenger trains and implemented reconnection operations of 7 EMUs.

These efforts are being made to ensure that travel services are maintained and that passengers can reach their destinations safely and efficiently. The railway department continues to monitor and adjust its operations in response to changing weather conditions.

The news of increased transportation capacity and reduced weather-related impacts will come as a relief to millions of travelers making their way across the country for the Spring Festival. The railway department’s proactive measures are aimed at providing a smooth and seamless travel experience for passengers during this busy period.
