Ecuadorian football unites in an initiative for peace; several mothers of the Ecuadorian national teams launched a campaign for the captains of the national teams to wear bracelets designed by them.

The objective is to transmit a message of peace in the midst of violence.

Promoted by the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF), this campaign seeks to highlight the role of mothers of athletes as bearers of positive values ​​towards youth. The bracelets, designed by these women, will be delivered to the captains of all the teams in all categories, carrying with them a message of peace towards society. Francisco Egas, president of the FEF, highlighted the importance of this initiative at a time when the country faces significant challenges in terms of security and violence. “This campaign is called ‘Captains for Peace’, and the armbands will be worn by the captains of our different teams, with the special collaboration of the company in charge of the clothing of our teams,” Egas explained. Recalling the violent events that shook the country at the beginning of the year, Egas stressed the need to unify a message in favor of peace and unity. “We have to tell our country that peace is the way, that sport is the way,” he emphasized. “Football is a powerful tool to bring a message of peace to our children and our world.” The highest representative of the FEF also highlighted the valuable support of the players’ mothers, who have played a fundamental role in guiding their children along the path of sport and keeping them away from violence. “They have had the enormous success of being able to guide their children along the path of sports, and today they enjoy being able to see their children running on a field,” said Egas. This campaign seeks to transmit a powerful message in search of peace that Sport is an excuse to do things well, to be good citizens.
