National Smart Education Platform Launches “AI Learning” Column

In celebration of the second anniversary of the launch of the National Smart Education Platform, the Ministry of Education held a launch ceremony for the Special Action for the Integration, Intelligentization, and Internationalization of Digital Education in Beijing. During the ceremony, the ministry officially announced the launch of an artificial intelligence-empowered education action.

Wu Yan, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Education and Vice Minister, shared details about the new “AI Learning” column on the platform. The column will feature lectures by renowned scientists, top engineers, and entrepreneurs on artificial intelligence in general education. Additionally, famous teachers will teach AI courses aimed at helping students understand the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and its practical applications through virtual simulation courses and industry collaboration.

Moving forward, the Ministry of Education plans to launch a large model application demonstration action to further integrate artificial intelligence into the education system. This initiative will focus on creating a large-scale model dedicated to generative education, utilizing strong algorithms, improved corpora, and better services to set a benchmark for the industry.

Furthermore, the platform will introduce an AI intelligent translation function to make Chinese educational content accessible to international users in multiple languages. The goal is to promote cultural exchange and understanding while positioning China as a leader in artificial intelligence empowered education.

Wu Yan expressed the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with the World Digital Education Alliance, the International Journal of Digital Education, and establishing a Digital Education Development Index. Through these efforts, China aims to shape the future of digital education and generate a strong presence in the global artificial intelligence education landscape.
