In an outstanding ceremony, the executive director of the National Transit Agency (ANT) of Ecuador, Vanessa Cueva, received a prestigious award during the FIA Americas Awards 2024. This event, organized by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in Panama aims to recognize both motorsport drivers and institutions committed to promoting road safety and sustainable mobility.

The distinction was awarded to the ANT after being nominated by the Automobile Club of Ecuador (Aneta) in recognition of the notable actions carried out to strengthen road safety in the country.

Vanessa Cueva, representing the ANT, expressed her gratitude and commitment after receiving the award. She pointed out that this recognition consolidates the ANT’s commitment to continue working on the prevention of road accidents and safeguarding lives through the implementation of road safety campaigns aimed at all road actors.

Among the most notable initiatives carried out by the National Transit Agency is the creation of Road Safety Roundtables, which coordinate actions with control agencies to promote road safety campaigns, especially during festive periods. Likewise, it highlights the strategic alliance with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society actors, such as Bloomberg Philanthropies, Vital Strategies and KARUNA ‘Hearts in Heaven’, with the purpose of carrying out road safety education campaigns.

In addition, the ANT has carried out activations with driving schools throughout the country, seeking to raise awareness among drivers by providing road safety advice. These joint actions reflect the ANT’s continued commitment to improving road safety and building a safer and more sustainable mobility environment for all citizens.
