The new division of Italy into zones from 29 March

by admin

The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, on the basis of the data and indications of the control room, has signed new ordinances to combat the covid-19 pandemic, which will go into effect from Monday 29 March (for Lazio starting from 39 March ) and will last at least until April 6, the Tuesday after Easter.

The revision of the restrictions was decided after the Rt index (how many people can be infected by one person on average and over a certain period of time) jumped to 1.08 versus 1.16 last week, according to weekly monitoring by the Higher Institute of Health and the Ministry of Health.

Until April 30th there are no yellow or white areas but only red or orange areas. During the Easter holidays, from 3 to 5 April, all of Italy will still be in the red zone, with movement allowed within the same region for a maximum of two people and only once a day, between 5 and 22 hours. Easter kindergartens, elementary and junior high schools will also be open in the red zone.

On March 26, 23,987 new cases of coronavirus were recorded (the day before there were 23,696), with 457 deaths (up from 460). The positivity rate (ratio between positives and tests carried out) is 6.8 percent, as in the previous 24 hours.
