On the afternoon of November 25, 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Zhu Village, Caozhuang Town, Linshu County, Shandong Province, to watch the village history exhibition of the former model village that established the party organization at the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, and learn about the production and life of the masses in the old revolutionary base. “Life is getting better day by day, but we must not forget the history, the martyrs and heroes who fought bloody battles for the birth of New China, and the people in the old districts who made major contributions to the revolution.” At the time, the 83-year-old “Lao Zhi Qian” Wang At Kechang’s home, General Secretary Xi Jinping sat down with his family to make a chore. The general secretary said three “not to forget” in a row, and his deep feelings for the people in the old districts are beyond words.
Zhucun has an advantageous geographical location, with a mountain to the west, rivers crisscrossing the village, and jade belts entwined. It is a famous red fort village during the Anti-Japanese War and a typical Zhiqian model village during the Liberation War. It is the birthplace of “gunshots are commands”. Known as Binhai “Little Yan’an”. Zhengrong years have left Zhucun a large number of precious red historical and cultural relics, as well as countless deep stories of military and civilian fish.
In the Yimeng mountains and rivers where Zhucun is located, from the 1938 Shandong Provincial Party Committee led the anti-Japanese armed uprising to the victory of the Liberation War in 1949, more than 4,000 large and small battles have occurred during the revolutionary struggle years of more than ten years. Among the 4.2 million population in the Yimeng base at that time, more than 1.2 million supported the army, more than 200,000 joined the army and participated in the war, and more than 100,000 heroes were blood-stained on the battlefield.
Yimeng’s mother Wang Huan founded a wartime nursery and raised more than 40 descendants of the revolution to grow up; the “Six Yimeng Sisters” organized the whole village day and night to make military uniforms for the troops, raise rations, and take care of the wounded and sick; Li Guifang and others 32 A woman removed the door panel of her house, jumped into the cold water, and built a “wire bridge” with her weak body… The communists “dare to teach the sun and the moon to change the sky”, and the people are the source of strength.
General Secretary Xi Jinping once said affectionately that in the red land of Yimeng, countless heroic sons and daughters were born. The deeds of the “Six Yimeng Sisters”, the Yimeng mother, and the Yimeng Hongsao were very touching. The Yimeng spirit, like the Yan’an spirit, Jinggangshan spirit, and Xibaipo spirit, is a precious spiritual wealth of the party and the country, and it must continue to be carried forward in accordance with the conditions of the new era.
From supporting the People’s Army in fighting against the enemy during the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation, to realizing the magnificent transition from “blocking boats and vehicles” to “logistics in the world” during the reform and opening up, generations of Zhucun people have always upheld the Yimeng spirit and built their hometowns in the new era.
