Hundreds of people stood on the sidewalks of the central streets of Riobamba to admire the passage of the Niño Rey de Reyes, this Saturday, January 6, 2024. Curiquingues, tin devils, sacha runas, clowns, dogs and dancers were the most photographed .

The celebration, considered one of the emblematic religious traditions of the city, began at 10:00 a.m.

Like every year, the sacred image of the Child King of Kings from the Santa Rosa neighborhood toured the main streets of the historic center of Riobamba; Along with him, a whole ensemble of dances and troupes, village bands and accompanied by the traditional characters of the Child’s Pass who spread joy to all the faithful and devotees who crowded the streets of the center to admire their journey. Once the holy mass was concluded in the church of San Antonio de Padua (Loma a Quito), the image of the Child King of Kings in the hands of the priostes and accompanied by custodians and authorities, led the route that extended through the streets: Argentinos , Carabobo, August 10, Cristóbal Colón, Colombia, García Moreno until culminating in the oratory, located in Santa Rosa. El Pase del Niño is considered one of the main Andean popular festivals in the country; It summons no less than 5,000 participants and more than 190 delegations who were present at this emotional party that paralyzed the center for more than five hours, so Civil Traffic Agents, National Police and other first response entities prepared an entire safety and traffic device due to prolonged road closures. This year, the priostes were the Guamán Allauca family and their children.
