The 2024 Spring Festival Shandong Rural Culture Tourism Festival Kicks Off in Qingdao

The launch ceremony of the 2024 Spring Festival Shandong Rural Culture Tourism Festival took place on January 18 in the ancient city of Jimo, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. The event was filled with lively and festive performances, showcasing the rich intangible cultural heritage of the region. The ceremony also featured the participation of foreign friends, adding an international flair to the celebration.
As part of the festival, each district and city promoted their local scenery and products, providing visitors with the latest and most comprehensive guide to exploring Qingdao in the winter. The event was marked by the sound of drums and cheerful music, with guests and attendees joining in to kick off the Qingdao Urban and Rural Cultural Tourism Festival.
One of the highlights of the event was the Yellow River Fair, which featured a bustling marketplace with a wide variety of goods on display. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the “Consumption is Coming” Huimin Zone, where they could sample and purchase time-honored products such as Jimo Old Wine, Mi Sandao, and Huahua Steamed Buns. Additionally, the “Ingenuity and Intangible Cultural Heritage” experience zone allowed participants to engage in activities such as paper-cutting, lace-making, and pyrography.
The festival, which runs from January 18 to March 11, aims to showcase the unique cultural and scenic offerings of Qingdao. With a series of planned activities, the festival invites visitors to immerse themselves in the local traditions, experience the rich folk customs, and celebrate the New Year in style.
The organizers have planned 34 municipal activities and 820 district and city activities, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors from all over the world are welcomed to join in the festivities, participate in trade and shopping fairs, and engage in special cultural activities that highlight the vibrant cultural heritage of Qingdao.
