KHALID BARKAOUI
The first enemy of the pupil and the teacher is routine and boredom. What the learner is looking for again in class is learning in a framework full of pleasure and fulfillment. This long-awaited pleasure requires a teacher who innovates and experiments to make the educational space more attractive. As a result, the teacher who shows imagination and a spirit of initiative is called upon to respond to the incessant needs of his class group. This group isn’t just looking for raw learning and vapid knowledge. He greatly needs freedom, autonomy, responsibility, to be confident, committed and deliberately smiling and cultured to become a virtuous citizen capable of contributing to the development of his country.
Today’s student is completely different from yesterday’s student. Today’s student must be equipped with knowledge, know-how, values and soft skills commonly called behavioral skills. To provide the learner with all the aforementioned skills, the entire educational community is required to pool its efforts and collaborate to create the optimal conditions capable of helping each student to succeed in school, to progress at his own pace and to flourish.
We can therefore set up educational clubs, a theatrical space, hikes, sports activities, a school newspaper and reading corners to substantially improve the academic level of the pupils.
The reading corner in the classroom is an educational tool that will certainly help students to enrich their lexical repertoire, to make new intellectual and scientific discoveries. It is an active means that motivates the student to read more and to vary his reading to broaden the horizon of his culture and strengthen his personality.
Once the reading corner has been installed in a specific area unanimously voted on by the learners, we will jointly think about filling it with a variety of books ranging from tales, through short stories, short stories, dictionaries, plays and other books that may respond favorably to students’ eclectic tastes and preferences.
Then, we can think about the decoration of this corner to make it extremely friendly and stimulating.
It should be noted that the primary objective of this major project lies in the training of a student-reader-speaker and prescriber. In a nutshell, through bookish passion, the teacher should aim to give birth to a student who loves reading, who is able to speak fluently and write qualitative productions that arouse the interest and enthusiasm of peers, teachers and administrative staff.
This large-scale project must be part of the fight against educational inequalities. It will set itself the ultimate objective of helping each learner to read, to reconnect with passion with the book, to start reading with pleasure according to the desires of each other and to experience an intense moment of joy and happiness. ‘euphoria.
Students must therefore find an attractive and welcoming space that offers them a variety of documentary and literary resources. Our ambition must be a student researcher who has an ability to process information, to select it better, to reuse it effectively so that it suits his intentions and his learning style.
For this reading corner to fully fulfill its role as a center of knowledge, culture, self-enrichment, development of the imagination, promotion of critical thinking and creativity, it must be nurtured and concerned of its continued development.
