Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov said that the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran was a strong blow to US policies in the Middle East, according to “Novosti” agency.
Pushkov added via “Telegram”: “This step did not constitute a blow to US policies that relied on isolating Iran in the Middle East, but rather generated a decisive political reconciliation between the two most important diplomatic forces, the Shiite forces and the Sunni forces, which have always been at odds.”
He pointed out that such a policy is evidence of the new independence of the countries of the eastern world, which are working to develop their relations without paying much attention to the United States.
The Russian senator noted that these new alliances were not possible in the twentieth century.
