The Region announces the restart of the procedure for the Gex airport

by admin

The agreement signed with the Ministries and Enac will have to be updated on the basis of the new executive project

AOSTA. The regional government announces the reactivation of the procedure for the completion of the C. Gex regional airport. For now, we are only talking about the reopening of the administrative procedure which will allow “in the coming months, to carry out the subsequent completion activities of the terminal” according to the approved executive project.

The work pays for years of abandonment of the terminal yard, now hidden by trees grown over the years, political choices changed over the years and the unknown funding. With the Defr, the regional government redefined the destination of the airport by allocating it to “general aviation” activities with helicopter rescue, civil protection, business flights, motorized tourist flights, gliding, drone practice, air taxi and business aviation and also a segment of seasonal charter flights of limited size. The C. Gex will be equipped with the necessary equipment for instrumental arrivals and departures based on GPS navigation.

The reactivation of the process will make it possible to complete a series of formal requirements which are also indispensable from an economic point of view.

“In essence – communicates the regional department of finance and public works – the supplementary act of the Framework Program Agreement signed with the competent Ministries of the State and the National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) will be reviewed, updating it to changes introduced by the executive project for the completion of the terminal and consequently reshaping the necessary financial resources ».
