The Sudanese army denied in a press circular the news that was reported by some newspapers, news websites and social media, which contained misleading information, about the detention of the sister Arab Republic of Egypt of a cargo ship heading to the Republic of Sudan.

Some news sites and media published misleading information indicating that the sister Arab Republic of Egypt had detained a cargo ship heading to the Republic of Sudan.
The Sudanese Armed Forces clarify that this information is misleading and incorrect and that the Arab Republic of Egypt has not detained any ship heading to Sudan.

On a related note, Colonel Staff Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez, the military spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces, denied the news circulated on some social media pages regarding Egypt preventing the passage of an arms ship belonging to the Sudanese army from reaching the port of Port Sudan.
Gharib described this news as fabricated and aimed at casting doubt on the established and strong relations between the Egyptian and Sudanese armies.
Gharib affirmed that Egypt stands strongly behind the national institutions in the brotherly Republic of Sudan and supports all efforts to bring peace and stability.
