Roberto Gualtieri will be the main democratic candidate for the Capitol and will thus challenge a still unknown candidate of the center-right, the grillina Virginia Raggi and the leader of Action Carlo Calenda. Gualtieri was Minister of Economy in the second Conte government but made himself known in the European Parliament. He is not the only leader who has drawn from the Brussels experience the prestige necessary to exercise a leading political role at home.
