Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday expressed his gratitude for the US House of Representatives’ approval of a draft law on military aid to his country, and said that the aid would save lives and “put a just end” to the war with Russia.
Zelensky wrote on the social media platform
The Ukrainian president said that the bill “will prevent the expansion of the war, save thousands and thousands of lives, and help our nation become stronger.”
Minutes later. Zelensics said in his evening video conference address that the aid “will be felt by our soldiers on the front lines” and praised the role of “American leadership” in maintaining a rules-based international order.
The Council had approved aid to Ukraine worth $60.84 billion.
The US Senate, with a Democratic majority, is expected to approve the bill after it approved a similar measure more than two months ago and then submit it to President Joe Biden for his signature.
