There is Still Rainfall and Strong Convective Weather in the South, with a New Round of Cold Air to Affect the North Tomorrow

China News Service, March 25 (Xinhua) – The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued daily weather warnings as heavy to heavy rains continue to impact several regions in the south of China. Areas experiencing heavy rainfall include Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and more. Cities like Yichang, Xiantao, Xiaogan, and Wuhan in Hubei are facing heavy rains, while thunderstorms and strong winds have been reported in various other provinces.

Today, the forecast predicts moderate to heavy rain in most of Zhejiang, southern Anhui, central and northern Jiangxi, eastern and southern Hunan, northeastern Guangxi, and southeastern Tibet. Additionally, there may be light to moderate snow or sleet in southern Qinghai, eastern Tibet, and the northern part of the Western Sichuan Plateau.

As severe convective weather continues, the Central Meteorological Observatory has issued blue warnings. Moving forward, a new wave of cold air is expected to impact the northern region starting tomorrow (26th). Regions like central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northern North China, and northeastern areas will see a 4-8°C drop in temperature. The local temperature drop in central Inner Mongolia could even exceed 10°C.

Moreover, strong winds are expected in some areas, with gusts reaching magnitudes 8 to 10 or above. There may also be blowing sand or floating dust in eastern and southern Xinjiang, most of Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, northern Shaanxi, Shanxi, and central and northern Hebei from the 26th to the 28th. Local sandstorms are also a possibility in central and western Inner Mongolia. Stay updated on weather advisories and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
