A man was placed under arrest by elements of the National Civil Police (PNC) after he attacked another with a crowbar, in an event that occurred in the Obraje Nuevo canton, in San Pablo Tacachico, La Libertad.
The detainee goes by the name of Gerson Tomás García Ramírez, who, according to the authorities, had an argument with another person whom he subsequently attacked with a crowbar, causing serious injuries to his back.

García Ramírez was searched by the authorities after the incident was reported, and was located in the same sector and under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The detainee will be prosecuted for the crime of serious injuries.
For his part, the victim of the attack was taken to a hospital to receive immediate medical attention due to the severity of his injuries.
