In a joint action between the troops of the Ninth Brigade of the National Army and the Anti-Narcotics Police, an individual who was transporting more than half a ton of marijuana in an NPR-type vehicle was captured in flagrante delicto.
The operation was carried out while the troops of the Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion No. 26 were carrying out a checkpoint on the road that connects Ataibe, Cauca, with Nátaga, Huila. During the operation, the vehicle in question was immobilized, and 98 packages of the alkaloid were found carefully camouflaged in the bodywork. The total weight of the marijuana seized amounted to 831 kilograms.

It is important to note that the drugs were hidden in a modified compartment of the vehicle., designed to bypass authorities’ controls. However, thanks to the soldiers’ meticulous inspection, the illicit substance was discovered, representing a significant blow to the finances of criminal groups, with an estimated value of 1,246,500,000 pesos.
The driver of the vehicle was caught flagrante delicto and placed at the disposal of the authorities. competent judicial bodies, facing charges for their alleged participation in the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
“Thanks to the work carried out by the National Army in the department of Huila, the financing lines of criminal groups continue to be weakened, neutralizing their criminal actions and preventing these psychoactive substances from reaching innocent people,” said the Army.
