Governor Renson Martínez Prada arrived in the city of Cartagena accompanied by social manager Gleydis Torres to participate in the “Summit of Governors building development from the regions”, the first ordinary assembly of the new departmental leaders 2024 – 2027.
During the Governors’ Summit, the president was appointed to represent the departments in the Collegiate Body of Administration and Peace Decision; and in turn, he was appointed as a delegate of the departments in the Peace Commission and in the Intersectoral Commission for Development and Border Integration.
Furthermore, in this first meeting the National Federation of Departments elected the new Board of Directors, with the governor of Boyacá, Carlos Amaya, being elected as president of the Federation and the governor of Risaralda, Juan Diego Patiño Ochoa, as vice president.
Martínez Prada pointed out that these types of events are “a key scenario for articulation with the National Government to manage strategic projects and resources for the Department.”
During February 8 and 9, the summit organized by the National Federation of Departments will have spaces for dialogue where they touched on topics of regional interest such as the lines for the formulation of Departmental Development Plans based on strategic topics such as the transition energy and the reorganization of the territory around water, public order, security, El Niño phenomenon, among other topics.
