Torretta, an old woman killed by the smoke of the weeds she was burning

An 81-year-old woman, Anna Plauzio, died in Torretta, in Palermo, while she was burning some brush in her garden in the countryside. The flames spread very quickly and surprised the old woman who was enveloped in it: she died of asphyxiation from the smoke that was released from the stake. The firefighters and health workers of 118, the coroner and the carabinieri of Carini’s company intervened.
