A serious traffic accident that occurred this Saturday afternoon on the Pan-American Highway in San Vicente, left one person dead and another with injuries to different parts of the body, according to a report from Civil Protection and relief entities.
It was reported that the driver of an SUV lost control of the truck and ran over a woman who was shopping on the side of the road. The female died immediately and fell to the bottom of a ravine.
The accident occurred at kilometer 47 of the Pan-American Highway, in the Izcanales canton, in the jurisdiction of Santo Domingo, San Vicente. The person responsible was injured and is in custody at a hospital.
Rescuers from the Salvadoran Red Cross and Civil Protection personnel had to recover the body of the woman who fell into a ravine of approximately 25 meters. The name of the deceased and the person responsible for the accident was not revealed.
