Trento, the corpse found in the Adige – the Republic is of Peter Neumair father of Benno

by admin

The body found in the Adige in Trento belongs to Peter Neumair. This is confirmed by the lawyer Carlo Bertracchi, lawyer of Madè Neumair, sister of Benno. The identification would have occurred through some personal effects found on the body, in particular the clock. In any case, definitive confirmation can only come from the DNA examination that the Bolzano Public Prosecutor intends to arrange in the next few hours.

The 63-year-old man disappeared on January 4 with his wife Laura Perselli, aged 68. A few days after the discovery of the woman’s body, which took place on February 6, the couple’s son, Benno, had confessed to having killed both parents and thrown their bodies into the Adige river from the Vadena bridge.

“In the tragedy, finally good news. I lived through months of anguish, now yes, I am relieved”. Benno Neumair thus commented to his lawyer Flavio Moccia, the discovery in the Adige of the body of his father Peter. When the lawyer went to visit him, the young personal trainer imprisoned in the Bolzano prison for the murder of both parents, had already learned the news on television.

“They have been difficult months, I did not understand how it had not yet been found – Benno said during the meeting – Now I hope that the circumstances on the modalities I have already expressed are confirmed through the corpse investigation”.

The searches in the river had resumed a few days ago, on the orders of the Prosecutor’s Office, which had appointed a canine department, specializing in water searches, of the State Police. The group of researchers had arrived from La Spezia. The body recovered from the Adige had been in the water for a long time. It is in a strong state of decomposition.

The body was spotted in the waters of the Adige by a boy, who was walking with his dog along the river near the Muse science museum. He raised the alarm and the firefighters and the flying squad arrived on the spot.
