Treviso rejects reimbursements for those welcoming Ukrainian refugees

The Municipality says no to the proposal for a fund with voluntary donations. Conte: “Nobody should get rich in this way”

TREVISO. “I do not want Treviso people who earn on the heads of Ukrainian refugees, I will not sign memoranda of understanding that guarantee reimbursements for the reception”. Mayor Mario Conte tears apart the hypothesis of a convention on contributions to be allocated to families who welcome refugees from Ukraine. A proposal put forward by the Ulss 2 Mayors’ Conference, in agreement with Caritas.

A proposal that, evidently, went the wrong way to Conte.
