TREVISO. Un day dedicated to the most loved and known Treviso dessert in the world: on Sunday 3 October the “Tiramisù Day” returns, the event promoted by the “Tiramisù di Treviso” association and now in its fourth edition that will bring a series of of moments dedicated to the beloved dessert spoon.
“Tiramisù Day makes all the taste and tradition of our most famous dessert explode in the square”, underlined the mayor Mario Conte during the presentation of the day. The event, like the Tiramisù World Cup the following week (8-10 October), will be the last of the series of autonomous events centered on the mythological “tiramesù”.
“We work for a territorial promotion system of tiramisu”, added Conte, “and in 2022 the turning point could officially arrive by grouping all the events dedicated to dessert under a single hat, with the Municipality as director to decree” The month of tiramisu ” “.
Location of Tiramisù Day, in addition to Piazza Borsa, Loggia dei Cavalieri, Loggia dei Trecento and Piazza dei Signori, also the Chamber of Commerce, which will become the hub of the day’s activities and will be open to the public (free admission quota). Enthusiasts will therefore return to challenge each other in the “Tiramisù Challenge of Treviso”, and children will be able to play at being pastry chefs in the workshops, created thanks to the presence of the Lady Chefs.
For the first time, even professionals will compete in the competition for the best tiramisu in Treviso: the winner (chosen from Camelia Bakery, Nascimben, Trattoria Do Mori, Pasticceria Terraglio, Pasticceria da Max and Pollicino) will be awarded with the “Best of tiramisu ”of Treviso. Until sunset, for all gourmands, about 10 thousand portions of Treviso Tiramisu and three thousand tastings of Prosecco from the “Val D’Oca” cellars will be available, with the possibility of making donations. The proceeds will be donated to the Telethon Foundation, and to other associations actively present in the area.
The day will officially begin at 9.30 am in Piazza Università with the “PasseggiAmo Treviso” walk and an itinerary that will allow you to discover the beauties of the city. Furthermore, in the four main squares, from 9 to 10, Treviso Tiramisu amateurs will be able to deliver the desserts that will compete in the challenge to the jury positions; always in the squares, from 2 to 6 pm, children can participate in a workshop and prepare their first Tiramisu with the original recipe.
In the Chamber of Commerce, from 10 to 11, it will be possible to attend a conference led by the Tiramisu Academy, which will tell the unpublished stories related to dessert. Also in Piazza Borsa, from 3 to 4 pm, the competition between fans will be held and the winner of the “Tiramisù Challenge” will be declared, which will then be awarded by a jury of professionals.
