The “crafty ones” of the waste were discovered by the local police thanks to the images of the mobile video surveillance installed under the overpass. Fine of 400 euros
TREVISO. Are approximately one hundred the high records from January 1st to today against the eco-vandals who leave garbage bags on public areas of the municipal area of Treviso: the last ones due (from 400 euros each) were notified in recent days by the agents of the Anti-degradation Nucleus.
The images of mobile video surveillance have in fact immortalized two subjects at different times, Kosovars aged 18 and 22, while they were unloading a series of bags in a place that has long been abandoned and located under the overpass near via Marco Polo (Terraglio area).
“The situation of abandonments under the overpass was assuming important dimensions”, explains the commander of the Treviso Local Police Andrea Gallo. “In fact, we managed to clean up the whole area, which is now clean and tidy. This was possible with continuous plainclothes services that made it possible to identify those responsible for the abandonment, residing a few hundred meters from Via Marco Polo ».
The fight against waste abandonment is daily: to flush out the eco vandals, a mobile camera has been put into operation that can be positioned in any place with the possibility of operating even in complete darkness.
“This is an innovative and sophisticated technological system that allows continuous monitoring of the monitored areas with the possibility of intervening immediately if waste is being abandoned or obvious violations of the law”, continues Gallo. «Equally positive is the collaboration of citizens who, through the TrevisoSicura app, report waste and anomalous behaviors throughout the municipal area. The reports received via smartphone are hundreds. This allowed us to intervene immediately where there was waste but also to obtain important information, useful for investigations ».
Each report was immediately taken over by Contarina who guaranteed the removal of the waste in a short time. The innovative experience and the results obtained in recent months by the Treviso Command will be the subject of a national conference that will take place in Trento in mid-November and aimed at all local police forces that will see Treviso taken as an example at the national level.
