Two accidents on the highway, repercussions on traffic

The accident in the Pietra grossa tunnel

The first occurred at the height of the tunnel between Scarmagno and San Giorgio, while the second, on the link road towards Ivrea, saw a 60-year-old driving an Audi break down the guard rail

IVREA. A complicated day with two autonomous accidents for the men of the traffic police of the Settimo Torinese subsection, which watches over the A5 as far as Pont Saint Martin. First, a white van driven by a 40-year-old from Biella crashed at the Pietra Grossa tunnel, between Scarmagno and San Giorgio, causing intense traffic which however went out. On site, in addition to the road, also the Ivrea firefighters.

Then, around 4.40pm, an Audi A4 driven by a 60-year-old from Aosta went off the road and demolished the guard rail towards Ivrea, on the Santhià-Ivrea link road. Here there were no repercussions on traffic, but the man had to resort to the treatment of the Ivrea hospital.

Both incidents did not involve other vehicles, the dynamics will be clarified by the road patrol in service.
