In 2022, the overall production of urban waste in the metropolitan city and municipality of Bologna will decline, while the percentage of separate waste collection in the city (63.2%) and in the entire metropolitan area (69.3%) continues to grow. Le Due Torri is in second place for percentage of separate waste collection among large cities and in third place among metropolitan cities. “Organic waste” and “Paper and cardboard” are the main differentiated product fractions. This, in a nutshell, is the picture of the production and collection of urban waste that emerges from the analysis of Ispra, Arpae and Istat data carried out by the statistics offices of the Municipality and Metropolitan City of Bologna.
