The fighting took place near the Pueblo Nuevo Ceral indigenous reservation, in the Casezin sector. The Association of Indigenous Councils of Northern Cauca (Acín) expressed that there was an exchange of rifle bursts and the overflight of a small plane.
“In a new incident that violates the bilateral ceasefire, troops from the Cauca Specific Command were attacked by members of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Jaime Martínez,” the Army said.
In the attack, a woman and a soldier were injured, while Urca, a Belgian shepherd dog, Urca, specialized in identifying explosives, died. In addition, it was reported that three members of the dissidents were also injured.

The injured were taken to a clinic in Cali. “Ensuring the integrity of both, they were immediately treated by combat nurses and evacuees. Towards the Valle de Lili clinic in Cali where they receive medical attention,” the Army added.
Urca, a member of the Army’s anti-explosive group, along with his guide, were carrying out inspection work on the devices hidden by the terrorists. when the unfortunate attack by the FARC occurred.
