UTCH unions temporarily suspend the protest

by admin

The unions of the Technological University of Chocó, -Aspu UTCH, Asemtra UTCH, Sintraunal Chocó, and Sicutch-, agreed to temporarily suspend the protest they have been carrying out since last December 5, 2023, in order to guarantee the completion of the period academic 2023-2.

They explain that the suspension of the protest is subject to full compliance with the commitments signed on January 27, 2024.

The unions of the UTCH criticize that “the suspension of the process of the statutory reform was announced as temporary, without being qualified that way in the minutes of commitments. The announcement to define a methodology and socialization schedule seems exclusive to us, given that, on the contrary, the aforementioned act stated: “…strengthen its construction, based on discussion and broad participation by the University’s sectors.” ».

In relation to the electoral issue, the unions consider: “It is not understood how the modality of electronic or online voting is considered, given that in the minutes of commitments it was established: «It will be presented at the session of the Superior Council on January 29, 2024 “the proposal to carry out the electoral process under the in-person mechanism.” This means that the modality of electronic or online voting was discarded in the minutes of commitments, which is why it cannot resurface in the deliberations of the Superior Council.”
