Construction work on the new roundabout in Grivellino, Vestignè, a long-awaited work carried out by the Metropolitan City of Turin at a cost of 350,000 euros, should be completed at the end of November. The new roundabout will rise at the confluence of two provincial roads, the 56, which joins the Canavese to the Biellese and the 78, which instead connects the Eporediese with the Vercellese. More than satisfied to be close to the completion of the works is the mayor Alessandro Aibino. After all, the construction of the roundabout in such a delicate point due to the risk of accidents, given the sustained traffic of vehicles, was one of the cornerstones of his electoral program, already ten years ago. «The realization of this roundabout was a priority of our civic list during the elections of my first term – begins Aibino -. We have always urged the Metropolitan City to intervene in this sense and now we are very happy that the works have actually begun on Monday 30 August ».

The new roundabout will have a diameter of about forty meters and will closely resemble the existing one in Strambino, where the cross for Mercenasco, Romano, Ivrea and Vestignè is located. It will also be embellished with greenery, like that of Strambino, and will serve to better regulate vehicular traffic, reducing the risk of accidents. «After the initial project – continues Aibino – with the technicians of the Metropolitan City who carried out the first inspections at the beginning of the summer, we had the green light from some owners of the neighboring land to buy part of the land useful for building the roundabout. Now the roadway widening embankment is underway, given that the new roundabout due to the position in which it will be built will not be symmetrical to the provincial road 78 ». Like the twin present in Strambino, it will be equipped with surrounding lighting, “while the introduction of video surveillance cameras is not currently planned”. “Our hope is that it can be finished no later than the end of November, so that vehicular traffic can return to normal, given that now, with the construction site open, circulation is more difficult”. In a few weeks Vestignè will thus have two roundabouts: the first is the one that connects the capital to the hamlet of Tina, while the second will be that of Grivellino, to the satisfaction of both the Vestignese municipal administration and the many travelers who daily, especially in the morning and late afternoon, they pass along the two connecting arteries between Canavese, Biellese and Vercellese.
