A 50-year-old hammered his 39-year-old wife to death. It happened this afternoon just before 5pm Pove del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza. After the crime, the man called 112 and confessed to the murder. The Carabinieri of Bassano del Grappa went to his home and took him into custody. At the moment the surveys are underway to verify the dynamics of femicide.
The man, a 51-year-old worker and his wife are originally from Albania, but had long lived in Pove del Grappa.
The two have two children aged 13 and 9 and at the moment it is not known whether the murder took place in front of them. The house and the surrounding area have been closed to people and traffic. Together with the carabinieri, colleagues from the Vicenza investigative unit are proceeding with the findings. According to some rumors, the same soldiers have already recovered the murder weapon. The public prosecutor on duty is also expected shortly on the spot.
