I non-fungible token, or nft, are digital certificates of authenticity that represent a new frontier for art. Through the blockchain, that is a digital register of data that cannot be modified, they establish the uniqueness and ownership of an online work, which in itself can be reproduced by everyone and indefinitely.
The nft market is growing (in the third quarter of 2021 it was worth 10.7 billion dollars) and seems to guarantee artists more stable earnings than in the past. But it is not immune from speculation and the risks of a collapse.
