The community of San Antonio, Texas was left in shock after the tragic death of 17-year-old student Kaitlin Elizabeth Hernandez, whose body was found naked under a bridge last Wednesday. The Bexar Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that she died from strangulation, and police are treating her death as a homicide.
Hernandez was last seen on Tuesday afternoon, taking a walk with a friend. Initially, the friend was questioned by authorities, but a person of interest has since been identified and is cooperating with the investigation. The discovery of Hernandez’s body in the 7600 block of Dell Oak prompted a call to police in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police found her phone and a coat at the scene before locating her body beneath the bridge. The Crime Stoppers program has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for any information related to the case.
